Barani Maung Maung is a tech policy and safety expert from Myanmar. Barani spent over 3 years at Meta, focusing on hate speech and harassment policy, and led crisis management efforts for the Myanmar election and coup. More recently, she was at the Oxford Internet Institute, where she earned her Masters of Science degree, and pursued research on Generative AI safety in the Global Majority.
