Abdullah Hasan Safir

Abdullah Safir, an AI ethics and critical design researcher, focuses on reimagining AI from Majority World perspectives. He is pursuing his MPhil in Ethics of AI, Data, and Algorithms at the University of Cambridge's Leverhulme Centre for Future of Intelligence (LCFI) with a Trinity Hall Postgraduate Research Studentship. Previously a Research Assistant at LCFI, his works appear (or forthcoming) in peer-reviewed journals and top social computing venues. Safir served on the scientific and organizing committees for the Many Worlds of AI conference at Cambridge and co-edited its digital proceedings. He also co-designed an AI and Responsible Journalism toolkit. Safir earned his Master’s from the University of Warwick as a Commonwealth Scholar, receiving distinctions and academic excellence awards. Previously, he co-developed a Digital Strategy Primer for Bangladesh with Oxford University's Digital Pathways project.
